<p>Today was an exciting morning for me. I&#8217;ve been 125 lbs. for the about a year or so and I got there from 150 lbs. which I ballooned to one summer in high school. Forgetting the summer, I was a cross-country and track runner during the school year and stayed somewhere around 127 lbs. while in season.</p>
<p>Now, I had some really unhealthy eating habits when I was in high school. I would rarely eat breakfast and I would skip lunch on most days to avoid puking in practice. All that to say that I eat now more than ever and enjoy it. In 2007, I was in college; I was about 138 lbs., and I was a little insecure because during a speech class a skinny-mini poked fun at my love handles when I wore an exercise top for a speech I was doing.</p>
<p>After that day I started looking around for what I could do to &#8220;get back down to my high school weight&#8221;. The more I read, the more I found out that <span style="text-decoration: underline;">simply cutting your portions in half</span> could aid weight loss. So, I tried it. Beats not eating, right? <strong>It was this one change that caused me to drop to 125 lbs. and stay there.</strong></p>
<p>In 2008, I realized I had a problem. My sister had bought me a <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009V1YPU?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=worlmissnow-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B0009V1YPU">body fat monitor scale</a><img style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=worlmissnow-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B0009V1YPU" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" /> for my birthday. So, I realized soon that although my weight was down my body fat was high. I had done many ridiculous diets like the juice diet, the soup diet, the vegan diet, and the eat once a day diet, so I knew that <span style="text-decoration: underline;">these diets were &#8220;MAKING ME FAT!&#8221;</span> Diets without adequate protein will cause your body to eat your muscles so you get fatter although you lost weight.</p>
<p>At the end of 2009 I got a little <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VICRO8?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=worlmissnow-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B000VICRO8">cardio machine</a><img style="border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;" src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=worlmissnow-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B000VICRO8" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1" /> and started to do about 10 minutes of cardio a day to keep my energy levels up and tone my calves. I also started avoiding eating too many complex carbs and sugars. My goal now is to get to 20% body fat (that&#8217;s low for a woman, not a man). I&#8217;m at 21%, but here&#8217;s the exciting part; before I started eating less rice and potatoes <span style="text-decoration: underline;">I was at 26% body fat</span>. <strong><em>That was only a month ago.</em></strong></p>
<p><strong>Confession:</strong> I wasn&#8217;t exercising much at all to lose weight, don&#8217;t like it that much.</p>
<p><strong>So This is What Worked for Me:</strong></p>
<p><strong>1)</strong> Cut Meals in Half</p>
<p><strong>2)</strong> Don&#8217;t Eat White Things</p>
<p>Have to give credit to Tim Ferriss for giving some great <a title="4-Hour Body" href="http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2007/04/06/how-to-lose-20-lbs-of-fat-in-30-days-without-doing-any-exercise/" target="_blank">4-Hour Body</a> tips in his blog about losing weight because although I&#8217;ve never been overweight reading <span style="text-decoration: underline;">his posts really helped</span> me get <strong>&#8220;fat loss&#8221;</strong> not weight loss down.</p>
