Kick Start on New Year's Resolutions...and not...

Wow, it’s the end of the year. I just asked myself what I should be doing, and the first thing that came to mind was blogging. I want to remember leaving 2009, but I also wanted to share some cool tips on how to get stuff done (faster).

1) Trick Your Mind

o You can do this by saying “I’m just going to work on this project for 10 minutes.”

(There’s a big resistance to getting started, but the rest is usually gravy.)

2) Visualization (Not Hokey! It actually creates a chemical reaction in your body!)

o First visualize yourself doing the project and doing it well.

(Also visualize your worse case scenario and rehearse in your head how you would overcome it on this step.)

o Then visualize yourself hitting specific targets or goals within the project.
o Lastly visualize yourself finishing your project and the results of having completed it.

3) Speak Well of Yourself to Yourself

o Monitor your self-talk (those negative thoughts and things you say to yourself under your breath).
o Make it a point to say good things about yourself because your thoughts create your reality.
o Intentionally practice speaking positive things as you are working on your project.

(For example if you feel like you don’t have what it takes say, “I know I can do this.” or “If…can do this so can I.” and do use the present tense and words that move you towards achievement.)

IF YOU REMEMBER NOTHING ELSE FROM THIS POST REMEMBER IF YOU DO NOT ENCOURAGE YOURSELF YOU WILL NOT ACHIEVE AS MUCH AS YOU DESIRE OR HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH!

Know any other cool tips for keeping yourself going or focused on changing your life for the better? Feel free to share them in the comments section below.
